THE CATERPILLAR'S STORY
By Kelly, Katelyn

This page is about the caterpillars.

Left: Emily Gap (Anthwerrke)
There were three types of caterpillars. Some came from Mt Zeil, some came from Central Mt Stuart and some came from south on the Finke River. Their names were Ayeperenye, Ntyarlke, Utnerrengatye. They were walking east when they came across stinky beetles and then had a big fight. The stinky beetles bit the caterpillar's heads off. Stinky beetles and caterpillars have been mortal enemies ever since. The stinky beetles often attack the juicy caterpillars with great ferocity. After the fight some caterpillars ran away to Alice Springs and created trees, rocks and rivers.
