embedded linux
Embedded Linux is a completely new area for me, but one which I find fascinating. I'm particularly interested in applications of Linux to energy-saving and renewable energy applications. One of the main platforms for embedded Linux seems to be the ARM family of microprocessors.
Some embedded Linux websites:
uClinux.org
uClinux.net
uClinux on Wikipedia
linuxdevices.com
www.arm.linux.org
www.linux-arm.com
www.elinux.org

Embedded Linux runs on all sorts of weird and wonderful boards/chips/devices, including:
Picotux (3.5cm x 2cm x 2cm, claimed to be world's smallest Linux computer)
Atmel AT91RM9200. Also here.
