Val, just had a look at the site. It's really quite good. I wonder how many of these bush foods are found in the Pilbara and if the site lists all bush foods available. I am involved in the Child Nutrition grant - Healthy Yirramargardu - at Roebourne. Anne M and Beth S were talking about the inclusion of bush foods in the Plate Poster (which will be the standard in teaching nutrition in the community, TAFE, High school and primary). They would be interested in having a look at this site.

The North West Public Health units are reviewing the CSRC (Canning Stock Route Challenge, a Pilbara public health initiative) - so this may have some application in Diabetes education in the Pilbara, and as part of a project with school children (would depend on the teachers). The Division website could perhaps have a link to this???????

Great site, just looked at it. I'll show it to our ASSPA group, I think we could do something like that with the students for our area - Flinders Ranges, SA. Saw your site listed in the lastest SA Xpress newspaper. Thank you. Julia Henderson

Michael Hall, Principal, Lanyon High School, Canberra

I am Principal at Lanyon High School in Canberra and I am currently working with our local indigenous students and the community to build a special interactive website - a "virtual classroom" - around Indigenous Cultures. We hope to have it up and running - in infant stage - by end of this year but with a capacity for interactivity growing over 2002. We are also looking to link other sites of value to ours and we found this one created by the students at Larapinta PS and hoped they would consent to us making this link. We hope too, that they might be interested in our project later on??

Dear Mr. Hall,

I would like to congratulate you and your students for the fine job you did creating your Bushtucker website. It was fascinating reading, especially for a culinary adventurer like myself, and it's great to see kids getting experience with computers, the internet, digital cameras, etc.

Please pass my compliments on to Dallas, Ralph, Zac, Lindberg, Jamey, and anyone else at the Larapinta Primary School who worked on the project.

Bon appetit,

PS I've had witchetty grubs and kangaroo; both were delicious.
